Printing and Stuff

The work is in the mail! The paint is all over our floor! The beard on Sonny's face has grown down to his knees! The evidence is here!

We've uploaded some bad grainy photos to the Flickr thing showing some of the print production line for our upcoming show at Lamington Drive. There's just a coupla shots of the screen-prining happening, and also the work that was printed on the Old Fagette - which we are hoping to keep utilising in the future cos its rad. Thankyou Agatha for that hookup.

Sidewayz Holez
Exhibition at MTV Galleries, and Design Week photos

Got a work - another handpainted skateboard - in this exhibition opening Wednesady night - more info here. All for a good cause so head along.

And we also contributed to Ambiguous Horses's Hole In Bucket project for Design Week 2008. Like they say, and I am lifting straight from their site - they "have distributed 100 yellow buckets (with a hole) to various locations around Sydney. The first 20 have been given to Sydney-based designers, who have photographed them in settings that they consider badly designed - the proverbial 'hole in the bucket'. The remaining 80 buckets are now available for you to collect from 8 different locations around the city. "

We took a photo of the staples and gum-tacked street pole outside our house. Which is the beautiful sight your tax dollars go to revealing when the council come round and remove all those nasty gig-posters and flyers people post on the poles, and make the walk down the street kinda interesting - for us at least. You can see the other photographic responses here. They are all really interesting - my favourites are Andrew and Bri Secret Squirrel's pretend bus-stop, and the cinema "whacking door" - surely the 3 Stooges had a hand in designing that one.

Fear Of A Black Hat
Our big Fat Hexploitation Exhibition... in Melbourne... in two weeks.

The time is upon us... the signs are all dark and there's definitely some bad vibes creeping around. There you go... we Surrender. Melbourne. Lamington Drive. August 21st. 6pm onwards for the Hex Mex.

Don't blame us, we tried to warn you.

What does that mean? It means please come! to our exhibition opening - we've been making prints and drawings for the grand opening of Lamington Drive in Fitzroy. Its made us so giddy we've lost all ability to write anything that makes sense. Where is Lamington Drive? Why it's here of course! Hope to see you there - we'll be the two hiding behind the young priest and the old priest.

Brooms and capes optional.

NZ COCA BA2008 SAC&E THGSK778.?

Sonny painted up a board for this exhibition at the New Zealand Centre For Contemporary Art. You can see a photo he took of it here. He was very excited by the shape of the board, which apparently was really good. And I was very excited that he is in an exhibition with amazing New Zealand people like Chris Knox, the Kilgours, Martin Freakin' Phillipps for crying out loud! who we love the sounds of - and also some peoples we love the sights of - like our lovely lady mates Greedy Hen and Michael Deforge, who is King Trash and we is big fans of. Interesting sentence-construction - Much? whaaaaa?. This great art is by Dylan Taylor - who asked us to be in the Board Art show.

Children of Glenn
Library Report

We just updated our lame-arse press page with the piece Monster Children did on us in their last issue. We were lucky and shocked and lucky and excited to get included in their list of 50 things you should know about Australia in 2008. We are each half of a 42, which as we all know is the actual Meaning Of Life.

We're also really happy to get included in Creative Review's July 08 Monograph, which goes out to subscribers of the magazine. They did a feature of Darren Firth's recent Now Showing exhibition which we were in and printed a selection of 16 pieces of work from it and we got in it! Very. Fancy.

Speaking of printed book-like matter, we don't actually read 'em ourselves, but we do like to watch videos of spiritual adviser: Danzig, telling us how good books actually are.

Underbelly
Festival + Alpens Working Bee + Sopp Collective + us drawing

Last weekend we had alot of fun at the Underbelly Festival at Carriageworks. The lovely collective known as Sopp asked us to take part in an audiovisual workshop whereby they and some artists they invited got together and created work for musicians led by Danny Jumpertz, who were creating their music at the same time. They played for 7 hours! We were only there for a few but it sounded just amazing. The song "Grin and Bear It" has gone down a treat here.

You can read more about the process here, and see the list of musicians who created their wonderful stuff on the day. You can download the whole album too. We were stoked to be involved and included with other artists and designers like all the Sopp peoples, Ben Baretto, Toby Jones and Umeric. And listenieng to that music while drawing under the spotlights was an unexpectedly awesome way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

If you head to Carriageworks this weekend (12/13 July) you can hear the recorded and edited results and see the visual works made to accompany it.

Also spend some time looking at Sopp's site - they make such extremely beautiful things.

Sonny wants your money
Honey

Because we have totally sucked at getting an online store happening here, we've decided instead to just post links to OTHER sites where you can buy things we make - like this one, and there will be a whole lot more added in the not too far nearish future. Have a look for more sections to be added inside the FOR SALE section inside the WORK section.

Four of 'em

Here's a merry bunch of websites we've worked on lately, doing the pretty design bit and JT doing all the hard science-like building and CMSing bit - all added to our web section, but existing in the actual interzone as Incu Clothing and theredsunband and The Passport Label (which will be an even bigger better site soon) and Sparkadia.

Y O U T H
G R O U P

... have a new and quite astounding album. We did up their cover like for em - some more info on that here. Go forth and buy it! Even better try somehow to experience the pleasure of seeing them perform it aboard the Cape Don ship. We got to see that not long ago and it was a totally magical evening indeed.

We've also uploaded the artwork we made for the upcoming Clue to Kalo release Lily Perdida.

Also also while your down the shops buying Youth Group, pop into the newsagents and get a the latest issue of Monster Chlidren, which comes with photos of our ugly mugs and some very nice words about us too. Somehow we totally lucked out and got included in their list of things you should know about Australia.

Some Things...
We Made...

Not So Long Ago.... include a new creepy-crawly poster for Belles Will Ring - based on the artwork we made for their video a while back, a bit of a judge jury and executioner one for These New Puritansbased on how much we like guillotines and a black magic science thingy for a tshirt for Something For Kate, which is based on some press ads we did for them which were based on some molecular diagrams bassist Stephanie had.
